The weather throughout the week was cloudy, wet, and cool. This didn't stop us from getting outdoors, however. On Tuesday we were treated to a delicious lunch over looking the lake at Mr. and Mrs. Twombly's house. Students enjoyed hot dogs, homemade mac and Cheese, fresh berries, and ice cream cups and cupcakes for dessert.
Wednesday morning we boarded the bus for MES again to watch the 4th graders perform Frozen! It was fun for us to see our former classmates in this performance.
Thursday morning 3rd graders added the final details to the mural they have been working on. It looks spectacular! A huge thank you to Tina Lyon for all her help working with the 3rd graders to get this project completed!

Back in the classroom we spent a lot of time finishing up projects and writing Thank You notes to the various people who have helped us throughout the year. Our math focus this week was on Geometry. In Science we learned about how water forms canyons.
Friday we were treated to hot lunch provided by Kate and Mike McCarthy. Students enjoyed pasta with chickpeas, homemade latkes, fresh veggies and cupcakes for dessert. We managed another meal outdoors and squeezed in recess before the rain began falling. We had our last fun Friday of the school year and ended the day with a Wild Kratts episode.
On Monday we will celebrate our final reading reward by having a Beach Day. In the afternoon we plan to play games in the field.
Just a reminder that Wednesday, June 14th is our last day of school. School will be dismissed at 12:10. We will have our 3rd Grade Graduation that evening from 5:30 -7:00 in the school yard (weather permitting) followed by a potluck picnic. Currently, the forecast is calling for rain on Wednesday. If this happens, we will move everything into the Town Hall.
Please Email you lunch orders for the week.
Thanks for another great year at the Elmore School! The families at the Elmore School are a huge part of what makes this school so special to teach at and go to school at. Thank you all for all of your involvement: from donating firewood for ECO, to chaperoning field trips, to preparing Hot Lunch, attending concerts, open houses and other events, to helping with skiing and skating and ECO! You are all truly amazing. I will be sad to say goodbye to the 3rd graders and their parents. (This is the first group that I started with here 3 years ago - 2 of whom I've taught since Kindergarten at MES!). We have become more like a family in many ways, but I know they are ready to move on! I'm excited for what the new year has to bring in the fall as we will welcome five new students to our Elmore School Family.
