Excited for another day of Theater Program at Spruce Peak Arts! We had another week packed with learning, exploration and fun at The Elmore School! Students had Friday off as so that teachers in Elmore-Morristown and Stowe school districts could collaborate in a day of Professional Development together. It's hard to believe that we are already into a new month and we are about to celebrate the 100th day of school! The sun promises to make an appearance next week and the groundhog has predicted an early spring. I, for one, am looking forward to the lengthening days and sunnier skies. This week, during our literacy block, students worked hard on drafting their informative writing, had targeted guided reading groups, practiced phonemic awareness and phonics skills, and practiced typing using the Typing Club App. During Math, first graders are using addition and subtraction strategies to solve problems within 20. They also took the PNOA (Primary Numbers and Operations Assessment) this week. Second graders measuring and comparing length using centimeters and meters. Third graders are using strategies to add and subtract within 1000. We had another amazing day at Spruce Peak on Thursday. During our theater program, students had fun doing some improv games, they practiced their dance for the production, and worked on developing their Characters. In the afternoon, we all took to the ice at the skating rink. Thank you to Megan Batchelder and Ashley Reynolds for Volunteering this week and to Jesse Baker for homemade Chocolate chip cookies for snack! We will Celebrate the 100th day of School on Friday, Feb. 9th. Students should bring their completed projects to school that morning. Hot lunch (TBD) next Friday will be provided by Andrea Audet. Please EMAIL me your school lunch orders for the week. Other Announcements - mark your Calendars!
